Ravi Shukla is a business lawyer who specializes in internet and information technology. He regularly advises on a range of commercial, computer, intellectual property, information security (including cybersecurity), regulatory, governance, anti-spam and privacy rights issues. Ravi also assists clients in the gaming industry. With over 30 years of experience, Ravi is widely recognized for his expertise acquired while working in partnership with major institutions and leading Canadian corporations, often via long-term relationships.

Ravi is a trusted advisor to in-house counsel, privacy officers and compliance officers as he helps clients navigate complex issues. Much of his varied experience has been gained from negotiating agreements involving sophisticated information technology system deployments requiring expertise in intellectual property ownership and licensing issues as well as with outsourcing and other service provider arrangements.

Clients also rely on Ravi to advise corporate boards and executive levels of management in complicated matters involving the security of confidential and personal information. His 7-Step Compliance program has been crafted to assist decision makers in implementing comprehensive and robust data breach risk management initiatives.

Early in his career Ravi also practiced as an intellectual property and corporate/commercial litigator at one of Canada’s pre-eminent national law firms and argued complex cases before various levels of courts and tribunals, including the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Divisional Court and the Superior Court. The additional perspectives and insights gained via his early work as a barrister enhances the strategic thinking he brings to his current solicitor-oriented role.
